Plank & Post is an independent website operated from Paraguay. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.
2. What the site is
Plank & Post provides free calculators and written guides about the cost of outdoor home projects. It is an information service. We don't build, sell or install anything, and we don't put you in touch with contractors.
3. Estimates are not quotes
Every figure on this site is an estimate for planning. It is not a quote, a bid or an offer to do any work, and nobody is obliged to carry out your project for the price shown.
Real prices depend on your location, your site, the materials you choose and the contractor you hire. Get written quotes from licensed professionals before you make any decision that costs money.
4. Not professional advice
Nothing here is engineering, construction, legal or financial advice. Our guides describe common practice in general terms. They are not a substitute for your local building code, a permit, a property survey or a qualified professional who has seen your site.
Building work can be dangerous. If you do it yourself, you are responsible for doing it safely and for following the rules where you live.
5. Using the site fairly
You may use the site for your own projects and share your estimates freely. Please don't try to break it, overload it, get around its security, or copy its content in bulk with automated tools.
6. Our content
The text, drawings, calculators and design of this site belong to Plank & Post. You're welcome to link to any page. Please don't republish the calculators or the guides on another site without asking first.
7. Advertising and links
The site shows advertising and links to other websites. We don't control those sites or the products they sell, and an ad appearing here is not a recommendation from us. Our privacy policy and cookie policy explain how advertising works here.
8. No warranty
We work to keep the prices and the math right, and we publish how we calculate. Even so, the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty that it is accurate, complete, current or uninterrupted.
9. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Plank & Post is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss that comes from relying on the site's estimates or guides, including the cost of a project that turned out more expensive than a calculator suggested.
If we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to 100 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.
10. If your use of the site causes a claim
If you misuse the site, or break these terms, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that result.
11. Changes
We may change the site or these terms. When the terms change we'll update the date at the top of this page. Using the site after that means you accept the new version.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Paraguay, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you are a consumer, you keep any protection the law of your own country gives you that cannot be waived.
13. If part of these terms does not hold
If a court finds that part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
